Title: Product Analyst
Manila (AEI0), Philippines
1. Primary Function: Conducts research, development, testing and reformulation of fuels, lubes, greases, asphalt, specialty and other petroleum-related products; evaluates raw materials for alternative sourcing or upgrading of said products; assists in the product field performance evaluation; recommends disposal scheme of slow and non-moving products and raw materials; and maintains product documentation and other technical information.
2. Duty & Responsibility:
2.1. Conducts research, development, testing and reformulation of fuels, lubes, greases, asphalt, specialty and other petroleum-related products; research and development activities include laboratory testing, analysis and evaluation of the following: a. materials (base fuels, biofuels, base oils, additives, etc.) - typical inspection, quality control specifications, and performance parameters; b. processes - optimum process conditions and variables; and c. product formulation - optimum components and dosages
2.2. Undertakes technology review and literature research of additives for the quality upgrading of fuels, lubes, greases, asphalts, specialties and other petroleum-related products;
2.3. Assists in field performance evaluation of all petroleum products as necessary;
2.4. Evaluates and analyses product quality concerns;
2.5. Coordinates with, and advises, Operations in handling and doping of fuels, biofuels, lubes, greases, additives, specialties, and other petroleum-related products;
2.6. Recommends disposal schemes of slow and non-moving products and other materials;
2.7. Updates Product Bulletins, Material Specification Sheet (MSS), Blending Instruction Sheet (BIS) and Manufacturing Instruction Sheet (MIS) for fuels, lubes, greases, asphalts, specialties and other petroleum-related products;
2.8. Updates Lube Oil Blending Plant (LOBP) of Manufacturing when there are changes in raw material properties;
2.9. Coordinates with technology providers and suppliers on raw material specifications and formulation;
2.10. Handles maintenance of TPD laboratory, and minor troubleshooting and calibration & PM of laboratory instruments;
2.11. Performs other duties as required by TPD Manager from time to time such as but not limited to: a. coordination meeting with pertinent groups within the Company; b. compliance with regulatory requirements that impact product development and quality; and c. attends job-enhancement programs such as seminars, trainings, forums, discussions, workshops, etc.
3. Qualification (e.g.: Certifications, Education level)
3.1. BS Chemistry, BS Biochemistry, BS Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
3.2. PRC-licensed professional
4. Year of Experiences
4.1. at least (1) year technical and/or laboratory experience in the petroleum industry or related field, or newly graduate with good scholastic records
