Title: Finished Goods Planner

JOB PURPOSE:
Prepares a finished goods (FG) production plan and allocation for the assigned business unit aligned with the management’s direction, ensures that the actual output is aligned with the plan, recognizes possible reasons for variances, and proposes action plans to meet the requirements. Proposes for process improvements projects based on the issues and concerns raised in the day-to-day business operation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
KPA-1: FINISHED GOODS PLANNING:
RESPONSIBILITY: Prepares the FG production plan and allocation of the assigned business unit. Ensures that the production plan and allocation are aligned with the directions and targets set in the S&OP cycle, the requirements are fully served, and days level are within the target coverage.
Main Tasks:
1. Feeds FG Planner:
• Prepares the monthly consensus forecast (CF) and transfer plan. Aligns the weekly FG production plan and allocation with the monthly CF provided to Sales and Marketing, and optimizes the production and warehouse capabilities.
• Incorporates the production plan for other regions based on the approved transfer plan and/or management’s direction.
• Adjusts the production plan based on the FG inventory days level policy, and/or management’s direction. Coordinates with other departments if there is a need to increase or reduce the current days level to meet the target set by the management.
• Generates the data and presents the weekly operational highlights in the SSOP meeting.
• Represents the FG Planning team in coordination meetings.
KPA-2: SUPPLY AND DEMAND PLANNING:
RESPONSIBILITY: Incorporates the CF in the weekly production plans and allocation. Monitors the day-to-day sales orders and production output adherence, and adjusts the plan as needed.
Main Tasks:
1. Demand Planning:
• Ensures that the requirements based on the monthly CF are being met.
• Coordinates with Sales and marketing for any issues within the frozen period that may hinder the region to hit the CF.
• Calls-out sales segments / territory if the sales achievement is not aligned with the CF.
2. Supply Planning:
• Ensures that the committed production output and capacity for the month are being met to hit the CF.
• Monitors the production output adherence and capacity utilization. Adjusts the production plans as needed.
• Coordinates with supply chain should there be any issues within the frozen period that may hinder the region to hit the CF.
• Proposes action steps aligned with other departments to mitigate the foreseen shortfall vs. target.
KPA-3: PLANNING PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:
RESPONSIBILITY: Identifies areas for improvement in production planning and supply chain. Recommends process improvement projects.
Main Tasks:
1. Identifies areas for improvement in production planning.
2. Proposes for projects to improve the planning system to address operational issues.
