Title:  Reliability Engineer

Area Reliability Engineer

1. Assists the Chief Reliability Engineer and Operations Managers in implementing a long term reliability program by establishing maintaining equipment records and histories, condition and material changes. Specifically, he is tasked to do the area reliability report that established the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) for critical refinery equipment, bad actors list, PM results and other KPI measures.

2. Conducts in depth technical studies and research on corrosion and erosion patterns, equipment failure analysis.

3. Conducts initial equipment inspection in his area of responsibility and calls for specialist assistance only when scope is beyond his capacity.

4. Inspects and issues reports for Production A stationary and rotating equipment during shutdowns and turnarounds.

5. Studies corrosive and erosive conditions and recommends repairs and replacement of equipment as necessary. Proposes changes in the light of PBR and other experiences, local and International codes and standards, and other basic practices, design and construction material standards.

B.    Equipment Reliability Engineer

1. Inspects and assess remaining life of all stationary and rotating equipment according to set schedules during on stream as well as shutdown and turnarounds.

2. Determines and recommends mechanical rating limitations of equipment in accordance with engineering codes and standards.

3. Studies corrosive and erosive conditions and recommends repairs and replacement of equipment as necessary.  Proposes changes in the light of local and international codes and standards, basic practices, design and construction material standards.

4. Investigate and recommends corrective measure to increase the service life of equipment to the maximum, consistent with safe and efficient operations.
