SUMMARY
- Operates, monitors and maintains various utilities equipment relating to Refrigeration System, Steam and Air Compression System, Water Treatment and Electrical System.
- Performs procedures and instructions prescribed by the company’s/plants Quality, Environment and Food Safety Management Systems, HACCP standards
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- STEAM AND AIR COMPRESSOR SYSTEM
- Operates and maintains steam generating equipment and its auxiliaries.
- Maintain steam pressure as per Plant standard.
- Maintain equipment parameters as per equipment standard
- Monitor and analyze all steam generating equipment parameters such as steam pressure and temperature, water pressure and temperature, among others.
- Monitors and analyzes usage of coal fuel and refilling of day storage.
- Conducts regeneration of water softener/Reverse osmosis system.
- Conducts preventive maintenance of all steam generating equipment and auxiliaries.
- Troubleshoot and repair all steam generating equipment and accessories.
- Rectifies steam leaks.
- Operates and maintains all compressed-air system equipment and its auxiliaries.
- Monitors air compressor parameters such as air pressure, oil pressure and oil temperature, among others,
- Troubleshoots and repairs problems encountered on all compressed-air system equipment and its auxiliaries.
- Conducts preventive maintenance of air compressors such as replacement of line filters, changing of compressor oil and replacement of oil filters, among others.
- Responds to any other works required by the Utilities Supervisor.
- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Operates and maintains Electrical equipment and auxiliaries.
- Conducts preventive maintenance of all Electrical equipment and auxiliaries.
- Monitors and analyze day to day electrical consumption of the entire plant.
- Perform electrical installation of small power system and lighting devices.
- Troubleshoots and repairs roll-up section and sliding doors.
- Repairs busted lights and lighting fixtures.
- Conducts preventive maintenance of Motor Control Centers such as retightening of bus bars, checking of relays, contactors and circuit breakers, replacement of pilot bulbs and conduct wire insulation test among others.
- Conducts preventive maintenance of medium voltage transformers and MV and LV switch gears.
- Responds to any electrical related trouble encountered in the plant.
- Responds to any other works required by the Utilities Supervisor.
- RERIGERATION SYSTEM
- Operates SCADA controlled Refrigeration System.
- Operates and maintains all Refrigeration system equipment and auxiliaries installed in the plant.
- Maintain room temperature as per plant standard
- Maintain equipment parameters as per equipment standard
- Monitors and analyze room temperature and unit cooler status.
- Monitors and operates Process Chilled Water supplied to Production
- Troubleshoots and repairs liquid pumps, compressors, low and medium voltage motors, temperature sensors and transducers, SCADA unit controllers, unit coolers, soft starters and motor starters, among others.
- Identifies and rectifies ammonia leaks.
- Conducts preventive maintenance of compressors such as changing or addition of refrigerant oil replacement of oil filters, cleaning or replacement of suction strainer, motor grease application, calibration of pressure gauge, among others.
- Conducts preventive maintenance of condensing units such as replacement of fan belts, cleaning of water strainers, motor grease application and cleaning of condensers, among others.
- Conducts preventive maintenance of surge drums such as removal of oil from oil collector, oil pot and frost pipe, application of lubricating oil and grease on ammonia pump motor bearings.
- Conducts preventive maintenance of valve stations such as cleaning of liquid strainer and checking of solenoid and manual valves.
- Responds to any other works required by the Utilities Supervisor.
- WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
- Operates and maintains all water treatment equipment and auxiliaries.
- Maintain water quality as per plant standard.
- Maintain equipment parameters as per equipment standard
- Monitor and analyze water quality of the plant.
- Refills processed softened water and chlorinated water.
- Conducts back-washing of sand filters and regeneration of water softeners.
- Monitors and analyze water consumption.
- Conducts corrective action on water leaks.
- Conducts preventive maintenance on water pumps and motors.
- Responds to any other works required by the Utilities Supervisor.
- Take part in the overall maintenance program (preventive, corrective, predictive) of all utilities equipment.
- Uses and operates computer (thorough knowledge and skills in MS office applications, other applications, etc.) in the regular performance of duties.
- Defines and designs electrical requirements (power generation distribution, transmission systems, motors and controls lighting system, etc.) of meat operations in accordance with current engineering standards and practices. Reads and interprets electrical engineering plans. Conducts analysis and computations related to plant equipment (electrical equipment capacity, transformer capacity, motor brand circuit sizing, cable sizing, sub-station capacity, motor control center design, etc.) sizing using fundamental engineering principles.
- In the repair, check-up and maintenance of machineries and equipment, ensures the use, handling and storage of chemicals, agents, ingredients and supplies that are compliant with the company’s/plant’s QEFSMS and HACCP standards.
- Responds to any others required by the Utilities Supervisor. Complies with and performs procedures and instructions prescribed by the company’s/plants Quality, Environment and Food Safety Management systems, HACCP standards and government regulations. Ensures implementation of proper waste segregation and disposal procedures, conservation of resources and pollution prevention programs.
- Observes Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures and workplace safety regulations and emergency preparedness programs (e.g. chemical spill response, ammonia leak response, fire safety, etc.).
- Complies with company rules and regulations and observes professional decorum at all times.
- Performs other tasks that may be assigned as deemed necessary by the supervisor from time to time.
