Title:  Process Specialist

Education/Qualification

Graduate of BS Chemical Engineering, with more than 2 years of relevant work experience in industrial engineering and technical services/research & development/operations research

JOB PURPOSE:
To provide service and advice in the function of Technical Services to further the company’s objectives of promoting and maintaining a culture of continuous & continual improvement (CI), innovation and knowledge sharing and achieving process excellence in the Supply Chain (Manufacturing, Planning & Logistics and Technical & Support Services) organization.

MAIN TASKS:

• Implements/gets direction from superior on implementation of Continuous Improvement programs and other special programs such as Statistical Process Control, Review of manufacturing processes, Trials and Validations, Cost Reduction studies, Special programs

• Conducts assessment and review of in-process standards and manufacturing specifications that include but are not limited to:
  • Trials on reviewing existing parameters and verify applicability with the current conditions, provide trial result update and discussion to process owner/concerned groups
  • Tests on alternative suppliers of materials of same formulation, evaluation of  resulting product profile and endorsement to concerned groups of recommendation for use, as evaluated to be acceptable
  • Evaluates alternative equipment that can be used for operational flexibility and conducts trials for validations and recommendations for use
• Presents to superior improvement projects and plans; seeks Plant Finance concurrence on the planned cost savings and ensures the implementation of the approved project/plan.
• Monitors implementation of approved continuous improvement projects and measures.
• Monitors progress and ensures that actual performance is always on track and within target. Ensure that the team achieves the target peso savings of the project
• Secures verification from Plant Finance of actual savings generated

• Reviews and evaluates operational concerns and challenges

• Conducts and employs root-cause analysis and process and system improvement tools in resolving issues and concerns

• Holds discussions with superior and concerned stakeholders on the results of process reviews. Provides recommendations to superiors to address deviations/etc. Coordinates with area concerned on the implementation of agreed action. 

• Performs verifications to ensure effectiveness of changes undertaken. 
• Provides inputs to superior to standardize and implement projects in area/s other than the originally proposed by the proponent.  Seeks approval from superior and stakeholder concerned.

• Comply with in-process specifications and Quality and Food Safety systems and protocols in the performance of Technical Services activities.
• Complies with directions and instructions from superior on/initiates the acquisition of new technologies, processes and systems that can improve processes and operations. These include but are not limited to automation, waste reduction, yields improvement, alternative materials, etc.
• Provides inputs to develop, implements and maintains accurate Technical Services information system.
